This week's information from our YSU officers. Cyberbullying is an unfortunate reality in today's world. Here are some tips for parents if your child has been involved with cyberbullying Make sure your child is (and feels) safe. Safety is the number 1 priority. Be sure to convey unconditional support and help the child understand you as a parent want the bullying to stop as well Talk and listen to your child. Exchange in a calm conversation. Try not to minimize the situation, and ask what they would like to see happen at this point. Collect evidence. Screenshots, recordings of conversations, messages pictures, videos can be used as proof when reporting the incident Work WITH the school. There is a school bullying policy. School admin can help the victim feel safe at school and can help hold the offender accountable. Refrain from contacting the parents immediately. Oftentimes acting out of emotion can lead to unproductive discussions. Take some time to collect the facts and contact the school and or police before moving forward. Contact the content provider. If done on an app/social media, Cyberbullying violates the Terms of Service. Reporting it could allow the provider to remove the post. If needed feel free to use the counseling resources at the school. MPMS has an amazing staff, please reach out to them.

In reviewing the data collected through FinalForms, it was found that we had an issue with the information that was collected on the Education Benefits form. This information is used to determine how funding is calculated for many of the grants and programs that we participate in at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools. We have cleared out the information in this form and we are asking that everyone please use the link below to log back into FinalForms and make sure that all parts of the Education Benefits form are filled out. Please make sure to sign the form when completed. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate you taking the time to fill this form out again. This is a time sensitive issue and your attention to this is greatly appreciated! https://mtpleasant-mi.finalforms.com/
