SCHEDULES & LOGS
In our room schedules are individual according to each child’s needs. We try to follow your home schedule of feeding and sleeping as closely as possible. A daily log of your child’s feedings, diapering and naps is kept by their primary caregiver. These are sent home each evening. Newsletters or other notes may also be attached.
We encourage you to visit before your actual start date. We feel it is very important that parents get to know and feel comfortable with their child’s caregivers. Parents and Grandparents are always welcome to visit throughout the day. Nursing mothers are welcome to come in as their schedule permits. A rocking chair is always available. Phone calls are also welcome at any time.
WHAT PARENTS PROVIDE
A labeled storage tote is provided under the changing table for diapers, wipes, ointments, pain/fever reducer, thermometer, extra clothing and anything else that you would like to leave. Formula & Food may be stored in the labeled totes in the refrigerator or cupboard.
Generally each caregiver will have up to three infants in their care. A primary caregiver will be assigned to your infant, meeting all basic needs. These include feeding, diapering, naps, and completing daily logs. However, all caregivers play with all babies to provide each child with a loving, nurturing and stimulating environment. It is important that each baby and parent get to know and feel comfortable with all staff. We feel that the baby that has the love and attention of our wonderful team will be healthy- emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Diaper changing tables and high chairs are sanitized after each use. Floor mats and other equipment are cleaned at the end of each day and as needed. Bedding is sent home to be laundered every Friday or as needed. Toys receive a hot sudsy sanitizing wash daily. Personal toys are kept in your child’s sleep area.
We have a very strict medication policy for the safety of your child. Please refer to the Center handbook or call if you have questions. Medications may be stored in your child’s refrigerator or diaper tote. When getting a prescription for your child you may want to ask to have it divided into 2 bottles and keep one at the Center to avoid taking it back and forth each day. There is a medication sign in sheet posted in the room that must be completed by the parent and then it is filled in as the medication is given to your child. It is also helpful to keep pain/fever reducer on hand for teething. A staff member would always call to get permission and to confirm dosage with you before giving medications to your child. It is also helpful to have a thermometer for your child should health concerns arise.
Please label all personal items with your child’s first and last name.
We go outdoors, weather permitting. We enjoy going for stroller rides around the block or going out to the playground. We all need the fresh air and the babies love it. Please provide proper attire to match the season.
